Social media has become a misused outlet for feelings, and especially in regards to relationships.
Breakups can be nasty, and when it comes to social media, people tend to become tempted to check what their ex has been up to, who they are seeing, and whether they have dropped standards or upgraded.
Here are 7 rash mistakes you shouldn’t do on social media after a break up:
1. Posting about your heartbreaks.
If you keep posting about your heartbreak, everyone will tell that you are sad. People are heartless; they will think you are looking for a pity party. Take time off social media to recollect. Besides, who will want to date you if you are always showing how sad you are.
2. Updating from “in a relationship” to “single” abruptly.
Most people rush to update their status as a way to announce that they just broke up. If you have to change, make it discreet. Avoid changing your status abruptly.
3. Finding a rebound on social media.
Finding a lover through social media is the worst mistake you can ever make. Although some people find true love on social media, it doesn’t always work for others; 80% of the time. If you are still getting over your previous relationship, then you’ll only be hurting yourself.
4. Posting negative quotes.
It does not matter if the heartbreak was painful AF, try to see the positive things in life. Surround yourself with positive people, and eventually you will get over your ex.
5. Stalking your ex.
If you want to move on, don’t even think about stalking your ex. Focus on your life and do the things that make you happy.
6. Friend-requesting your ex’s new catch.
Don’t friend request your ex’s new catch; this only make you hate your ex even more. Try to stay away from anything to do with your ex so as to move on fast.
7. Deleting your ex’s pictures suddenly.
If you delete your ex’s pictures suddenly, you will be announcing to everyone that you just broke up with your ex. Delete pictures slowly until they are all done. Don’t make it obvious; unless your ex is a loud mouth who will beat you to the chase or cannot keep his or her mouth shut.
