From a young age when it came to beauty, we were often told what exactly was beautiful and what wasn’t.

A girl is meant to be slender or curvaceous without a tummy and the ideal man should be buff  with a six pack. But there are surprisingly lovable body features we tend to think are ugly but are actually beautiful. Over the years modeling agencies have appreciated people with skin diseases such as vitiligo. Yes, they may look a bit different but they are beautifully different. So aside from the usual perfect size 8’s and perfect everything, let’s remember the imperfect body features some may think are ugly but aren’t.

1. Stretch marks.

Goodness woman!! Those are your tiger marks; you need to embrace them just as they are. Yes, you may try those skin products that promise to get rid of them but if they don’t, so what? If you’ve carried a baby for nine months or had a moment where you lost or added on weight, then honey it is not a big deal even Kendric Lamar said he wants to see some stretch marks.

2. Thighs.

We are often told that wiggly thighs are unattractive, skinny thighs are also unappealing like what do people want? The good thing is you can always firm them if you want to but please don’t be obsessed with them. They are great the way the are.

3. Freckles.

Not very many people have these but for those with an eye for unique and different, then learn to love the freckles. Yes, sometimes they can be right there but hey, it is a part of you so embrace it. This also goes for people with moles or acne; there’s always a solution to skin issues but before you get the solution, love yourself.

4. That melanin AKA skin tone.

I cannot begin to emphasize how much black is beautiful. It is not just a saying, you age gracefully, you don’t get weird wrinkles and it is gorgeous. Forget about bleaching and quit trying to be white and start being dignified in that melanin.

5. Imperfect teeth.

Well, imperfect teeth could be that gap in your teeth, a bit of discoloring or whatever you feel is so wrong with your teeth. This is especially for those who can’t really fix it either because dentists are expensive or for whatever reason, but do not fail to smile because of that.

6. Big hips.

Well, let’s be honest, people are busy trying to get big hips so you should flaunt yours. I always say women with big hips have bigger homes for their babies, but that’s just me and I am a bit nuts sometimes. Nevertheless, flaunt those curves in dresses, jeans and even shorts because why not?

7. Big breasts.

Eh, yes this isn’t a big deal I kid you not. Unless it is a life endangering size then be comfortable with them and even wear a tank top when you want to, eyes will be ogling at you but so what?

8. Eyebrows.

Honestly, there’s nothing wrong with shaping eyebrows but there’s everything wrong when you completely erase, then draw other ones. For the love of your creator keep your eyebrows as natural as possible.

9. Big lips.

I have big lips and for a while, I wanted a reduction. Then I saw people in Hollywood getting injections to get big, juicy lips and I was like, I got mine for free! Need I say more?

10. Any kind of hair.

You need to start showing off your hair instead of hiding it in weaves and wigs. It is yours, it is not ragged or too thin and if it is, then take care of it but be happy with it at the same time.

11. Nails.

Thou shall not hide thy nails in those fake nails all the time. Stop biting your nails if you do, take care of them and leave them natural for a bit. I don’t believe nails can be bad so show them off.
